What is the Gospel?

What is the Gospel? What is the Good News?

Gospel means Good News. Most people know this, but what is the Gospel?
Is it the story of Yeshuah being born in a manger? Is it Yeshuah feeding the 5000? Is it Yeshuah healing all the sick and the lame? Is it Yeshuah raising the dead?

Is it, John 3:16?
John 3:16 "For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. (NLT)
This is good news, but it is not the Gospel.

Is it Luke 17:6?
Luke 17:6 The Lord answered, "If you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mulberry tree, 'May you be uprooted and thrown into the sea,' and it would obey you! (NLT)
This is also good news, but not the Gospel.

Is it Matthew 6:14?
Mat 6:14 "If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.
(NLT)
This too is good news, but not the Gospel.

So, what is the Gospel? What is the Good News?

1Co 15:1-4 Let me now remind you, dear brothers and sisters, of the Good News I preached to you before. You welcomed it then, and you still stand firm in it.
It is this Good News that saves you if you continue to believe the message I told you--unless, of course, you believed something that was never true in the first place.
I passed on to you what was most important and what had also been passed on to me. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.
He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.(NLT)

Here Paul declares the Gospel, the Good News to be; “Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.
He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.”

1. Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said.
2. He was buried.
3. and he was raised from the dead on the third day, just as the Scriptures said.

This is the Gospel Message. This is the Message that offends. This is the Message that arouses anger. This is the Message that saves, if we believe.
Now, share this Gospel. Preach this Gospel. Teach this Gospel.
Rom 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes--the Jew first and also the Gentile.
This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life." (NLT)

Ashamed

Oh, Father in Heaven,

I am ashamed of my actions
I am ashamed of my thoughts
I am ashamed of my little faith
I am ashamed of my poisonous tongue
I am ashamed I keep doing the same sin
I am ashamed of my weakness

But, I am not ashamed of the
Gospel of Yeshuah
My Savior
My Redeemer

Selah
